RoRo vessels leave the Cuxport Terminal in Cuxhaven heading for the British Isles every day. They transport a variety of different goods, but the cars with the white and blue chequered logo are the ones that people most obviously recognise.
The image of people working at the same desk with a PC tower covered in dust and a pen holder has already been out of fashion for a long time. Co-working spaces, desk islands and laptops already form an integral part of modern workplaces. Employers like the Rhenus Group are taking seriously employees’ needs for improved networking with each other and an environment that is adapted to their tasks. This is why a new building with office space was opened at Holzwickede at the beginning of 2019; it has been developed directly to meet just these requirements.
Cuxport’s new berth went into service even before its opening ceremony Even before berth no. 4 at the Cuxport terminal was officially inaugurated in September, the heavy-duty surface, which covers an area measuring 8.5 hectares, was the setting for a major offshore project from the summer of 2018 onwards. Cuxport served as the installation port for 31 foundation structures for Deutsche Bucht, the offshore wind farm operated by the Canadian energy producer Northland Power.
The Hamburg office of Rhenus Air & Ocean successfully completed a very unusual project recently: the four-metre tall statute of Krishna reached its destination at the site of the Hindu temple in Hamm undamaged and on time after its long journey from southern India – thanks to the tireless efforts of all those involved in the project.
The Dutch Rhenus subsidiary Copex is well-known for its many years of expertise in the business of transporting live animals. However, it has also been handling the transport, storage and customs clearance for a genuinely luxury product for its customer Crusta since April: live lobsters. They are caught off the Canadian peninsula of Nova Scotia and are transported to Amsterdam by air freight.
Rhenus Midgard in Wilhelmshaven has everything that a bridge needs: adequate space (15,000 square metres), a motorway link for deliveries and a heavy-duty quay that is not adversely affected by 700 tonnes! This means ideal conditions for the final assembly and shipment of a network arch bridge that is set to span the Bøkfjorden fjord in Norway in future.
What is a wild dream for most people is an everyday event for Svenja Hoferichter: flying by helicopter. Where other people take a bus to get to work, the 29-year-old has to board a chopper.

Rhenus took over the PSL Group, a specialist in international road transport, in August. As a result, seven new business sites have now been added to the Rhenus network in Great Britain. The PSL Group has its headquarters in Maldon in the county of Essex. SkanTrans PSL, which provides logistics services in Scandinavia, also belongs to the company.
Continuity is one of the five central corporate values for the Rhenus Group. Logistics flows are changing continually and at an even faster pace. Technical innovations create new underlying conditions and options for solutions. Berth 4, which covers an area measuring 8.5 hectares, was officially opened at the Cuxport Multi-Purpose Terminal in September 2018. The berth, which has 290 metres of quay wall and is capable of handling heavy-cargo items, offers space for vessels with a maximum draught of 14.30 metres. The area is suitable for handling rolling cargo, containers as well as heavy-duty items like offshore segments.

Michael Brockhaus and Michael Viefers are two of the most experienced Members of the Management Board in the Rhenus world. One of them is a third-party logistics specialist, the other one an expert in port logistics and trimodal bulk commodity transport operations.
